Got Questions? We're here to help.

A few of the things people ask most before getting started. If yours isn't here, send through an enquiry. Every site's different, and the best answers usually come from talking it through.

Are you licensed and insured?

Fully licensed and insured building practitioners. We'll provide all details upfront.

How do you quote, and what can affect the budget?

We provide fixed pricing wherever possible. The main factors that can move a budget are site access, soil conditions, and scope changes during the build. We take our time during the design stages so that we can flag these early, not after work has started.

Can you manage both the construction and the pool?

Yes, and that's our advantage. One builder, one site, one timeline. No juggling trades, no miscommunication between them.

What types of jobs do you take on?

We handle new builds, extensions, renovations and full landscaping, across residential and select commercial projects. If it involves building properly, we're interested.

Can we see the pools in person before deciding?

Please do! We have a Studio Plungie on display at Airport West, a Plungie Max in Warrnambool, an Arena Plungie at our Cheltenham showroom (with Aushen Stone & Tiles). Visits are by appointment so someone who actually knows what goes into a Plungie installation is there to walk you through it. Book a tour above, or call 1300 9 POOLS.

What does the 10 year warranty cover?

Every Plungie pool carries a 10 year structural warranty, and our construction work is backed by an industry standard 6 year warranty. We're VBA registered building practitioners, so the whole project, not just the pool shell, is built and certified to standard.

Does a pool add value to my home?

Pools are one of the most searched features on realestate.com.au, and in Melbourne they can add real value, especially on smaller blocks where outdoor living matters. Done properly, with the landscaping around it, you're upgrading the whole property, not just adding a pool.

How long is it from quote to swimming?

Typically 4 to 12 weeks from signed contract, depending on council approvals and site conditions. The pool installation and everything involved generally occurs over a 7-14 day period, but what takes the time is doing the whole space properly. We'll give you a realistic timeframe upfront and guide you through the entire process.

What's the total cost of a pool installation?

Most Plungie installs in Melbourne land between $50k and $100k fully installed. That includes the pool, delivery, crane, excavation, plumbing, pool equipment, fencing and surrounds: the shell is just the start. Every site is different, so we quote from a site visit, and we give you the full picture upfront so there are no surprises halfway through your build.

Do I need council approval or permits?

Yes. All pools in Victoria need a building permit, and safety barriers must be inspected and compliant before you swim. The good news: our third-party permit team (PSQ) manages all approvals, certifications and council submissions from start to finish, and the approval timeline is built into your schedule from day one. You won't need to chase anything.

Can you handle the landscaping and construction too?

Yes, and that's our advantage. One builder, one site, one timeline. Pools, landscaping, decking, paving, pergolas, retaining walls and planting are designed and delivered by one in-house team, so there's no juggling trades and no miscommunication between them. The pool is planned as part of the whole space rather than dropped into the middle of it. You get a finished backyard, not a pool that looks out of place.

Is a precast concrete pool as good as traditional concrete?

Yes. A Plungie is the same structural reinforced concrete as a traditional pool, poured monolithically in a controlled factory instead of sprayed on site in variable weather. That means consistent quality, full engineering certification, and a 10 year structural warranty. It also takes months off your build, because the pool is curing off site while we prepare your yard.

My block is sloped / tight-access / hard to get to. Is that a dealbreaker?

Very rarely. Tight access, sloped blocks, tricky neighbouring properties: we've handled it all. Depending on the site, that can mean craning the pool over the house, mini loaders, or crane-assisted soil removal with bulka bags. Our landscape construction team engineers the retaining, drainage and levels around it. We assess access before quoting, so you know exactly what's involved and what the costs will be before anything starts.

Will a pool actually fit in my backyard?

In most cases, yes. Plungie pools come in a range of sizes, from compact models like the Quad or the Studio made for courtyards through to full-size family pools like the Original or the Max. Because the pool arrives precast and is craned into position, along with different installation options like semi-recessed and above ground, we don't always need the wide site access a traditional dig-and-pour build demands. We've completed full pool and landscape builds on tight inner-Melbourne terrace blocks. Send through your address and we'll give you an honest read on what fits.
