Kew East Pool House
The opportunity
Not every project starts with a pool of ours. Natalie's pool was already underway with another builder; we were brought in for everything around it.
The brief: a beautiful, established family garden, mature trees, real grass, and somewhere separate for the family to gather by the pool.
The opportunity
The clever part of the brief was the pool house. Rather than build one from scratch, Natalie wanted the existing carport converted, a real cost saving, but it meant refurbishing a structure we couldn't knock down, on a site with limited access and an existing brick driveway to protect. The build also had to run stop-start around another company's pool construction, which makes sequencing the real craft of the job.
What we did
The carport became a proper pool house: blockwork, plastering, painting, a custom bar, and Velux skylights to bring the light in. Around it we laid Australian sawn bluestone paving, built a radial timber screen, and established Tall Fescue lawn with full irrigation and lighting throughout.
The outcome
Natalie's word for it is the vision coming to life: a garden that feels like it has always been there, and a pool house the family uses as a space in its own right.
